Athelis Club & Spa is a next generation of gym and fitness super club in Warrington. It features a beautiful spa, gym and on-site family friendly restaurant.
The designers on this project, APM Design Ltd, were appointed on the back of another highly successful and luxurious health spa project in the North West for the same client. In addition to their role as interior designers, APM also acted as terrace and landscape designers for this project.
Protocol was called upon to supply contract furniture for various areas in Athelis including the reception, restaurant, and lounges across the 3 floors. The initial brief was to come up with furniture options that have a rustic yet luxurious feel. Working closely with APM, we worked profusely to find the perfect furniture options as well as finishes and fabrics to complement. We supplied a range of seating options including dining and lounge chairs, armchairs, and sofas from the popular Da Vinci, Camille, York, Jo and Naika collections. The wooden frames and armrests on these models combined with contemporary upholstery created a relaxing atmosphere whilst adding character. We also supplied a selection of coffee tables with marble tops to add a touch of luxury.
The Champagne spa featured our round cocoon shaped Monte Carlo chair, which is shown hanging from the ceiling, but can also sit on a base. The beautiful basket weave pattern makes it a comfortable and attractive, stand-out piece for this area.
APM won Best Commercial Interior Design Project of the year 2020 (+£500k category) at the Northern Design Awards for the Athelis project. A great achievement for them which Protocol are product to have been part of.
