In the ever-evolving world of interior design, new trends emerge every season and where better to discover them than at Salone del Mobile. In this article, we’ll delve into some of the design trends we spotted that are making waves in the industry.

Boucle dreaming

Boucle is still very much prominent in the interior design scene as we saw at the show. One design aesthetic that particularly embraces boucle is Scandinavian design. Known for its emphasis on simplicity and clean lines, we saw several furniture models incorporating boucle fabrics to add warmth and a tactile appeal. When it comes to colour choices, boucle fabrics are most often found in neutrals like whites and beiges. This allows them to seamlessly blend into a variety of design styles and colour palettes whilst creating a sense of comfort and coziness.

Muted/pastel colours

Muted and pastel colours evoke a sense of tranquillity and serenity which we are seeing more of in furniture design. These colours include baby blue, lavender, blush pink and sage greens which are easy to pair with other shades; making them a great choice for those who want to experiment with different colour combinations. We saw a lot of outdoor furniture finished in this colour palette, offering both visually pleasing and a calming ambience to spaces.

Embracing the outdoors

With the demand for stylish and functional outdoor furniture increasing, it was great to see so many stand designs incorporating nature. From alfresco dining set ups to cosy lounge areas, the new outdoor furniture options prioritize comfort without compromising on style. We saw a lot of minimalistic designs and innovative materials that seamlessly blend with modern outdoor aesthetics. Sustainability was also prominent in outdoor design with many new models being manufactured using recycled materials.

Warmth of burnt orange

One trend that caught our attention was the increasing popularity of burnt orange as a colour choice for furniture upholstery and finishes. This warm and earthy hue has made a significant impact on the design world, adding a touch of vibrancy and sophistication to interiors. This colour is especially popular for accent chairs, sofas, and ottomans, adding a pop of colour to neutral or monochromatic colour schemes.

Beautiful coloured marble

Gone are the days when marble was limited to shades of white and grey. At the show, manufacturers embraced the use of vivid and eye-catching colours in marble surfaces. From rich blues and deep greens to warm oranges, the possibilities for incorporating colour into marble are endless. This trend adds a playful and energetic element to interior spaces, breaking away from the monotony of neutral tones.

Some of the other trends spotted included external metal frames, textured finishes and the impact of bold patterns. Keep an eye on our Salone del Mobile collection to see all the new products from the show.
